We have long been blaming bruxism, or teeth grinding, and craniofacial pain on stress and malocclusion. However, it has become clearer that the underlying factors among patients suffering from bruxism or craniofacial pain is an obstructive airway—yes the same cause for sleep apnea.

ABc Airway Bruxism Craniofacial Pain

In “ABC: Airway, Bruxism, and Craniofacial Pain,” Dr. Mayoor Patel will be introducing the relationship between these three areas. You will learn how to assess your patients, prioritize, and fabricate a treatment plan that provides the best results for all three conditions. With clenching or grinding of one’s teeth being a way for the brain to protect itself from suffocation, we will focus on how to help protect your patient, their teeth, and to provide relief for not only their bruxism or craniofacial pain, but their sleep disordered breathing as well.

Why you need to attend:
  • Understand the correlation between sleep apnea, bruxism, and craniofacial pain.
  • Screen and identify the underlying cause of these disorders, and treat your patients more effectively.
  • Build a referral network with the medical community and get paid by medical insurance for your services.
