Rose Nierman, RDH
Founder of Nierman Practice Management

Rose Nierman has been at the forefront of educating dental practices on medical billing in dentistry, crosscoding and services expansion for over 25 years. A pioneer in the industry of the treatment of TMJ and dental sleep medicine, she has developed DentalWriter™ and CrossCode™ Software to assist dentists with documentation and billing medical insurance and has authored 5 dental practice management manuals and over 100 articles. Ms. Nierman is a frequent presenter at major dental CE programs, teaching dentists and their teams how to implement and expand services such as Dental Sleep Medicine, TMD and dental implants. Each year, Nierman Practice Management assists their dental clients in obtaining over $40 million dollars in medical reimbursement.

Mayoor Patel, DDS, MS
NPM Clinical Director of Education

Having a limited practice to Craniofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine, Dr. Patel utilizes his experience and expertise to help dentists across the country excel in these areas within their dental practices. As a Clinical Education Director with Nierman Practice Management, Dr. Patel works with dentists and speakers to provide up-to-date information for dentists to continue to expand their practices.

Dr. Mayoor Patel received his dental degree from the University of Tennessee in 1994. After graduation he completed a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). In 2011 he completed a Masters in Science from Tufts University in the area of Craniofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Patel has earned a Fellowship in the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics and the Academy of General Dentistry. He also became a Diplomate in the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Board of Orofacial Pain, American Board of Craniofacial Pain and American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine. Presently, Dr. Patel serves as a board member with the Georgia Association of Sleep Professionals, the American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine, American Board of Craniofacial Pain and American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. He also has taken the role as examination chair for the American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine and American Board of Craniofacial Pain. With extensive dental knowledge and expertise, Dr. Mayoor Patel has served as Director of Dental Sleep Medicine for FusionSleep from 2008-2014 and as Adjunct Faculty Member at Tufts University from 2011-2014. He presently is an Adjunct Faculty member with Georgia Regents University and The Atlanta School of Sleep Medicine. Since 2003, Dr. Patel has limited his practice to the treatment of Craniofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Patel utilizes his experience and expertise to help dentists across the country excel in these areas within their dental practices. Additionally a peer reviewer, published textbook chapters, articles and a consumer book on alternate to CPAP, co-owner of a dental lab, and holds several patents.

Todd Morgan, DMD

Dr. Todd Morgan is a clinician and researcher with 25 years of experience in dental sleep medicine and a highly respected leader in the field. His research team has completed several NIH funded clinical trials and authored several peer-reviewed articles and books on the treatment of sleep apnea with dental appliances. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, and recently created the popular Board Certification course for the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He is the Chief of Oral Medicine at Scripps Memorial Hospital and a consultant to Scripps Clinic Division of Sleep Medicine in La Jolla, California. His relaxed teaching style is unique and thoroughly engaging, whether you are a novice or an advanced practitioner.

Steve Carstensen, DDS

Dr. Carstensen focuses on hands-on learning and as a Diplomate on the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, he maintains the ability to create spotlight on hands-on learning experiences. He has marveled at what’s out there to be learned for as far back as he can remember. As early as fourth grade he was helping his classmates with the lessons; that passion for sharing the wonder of new knowledge continues to this day. Fostered by mentors at Baylor College of Dentistry, the Pankey Institute, Spear Education and the Pride institute, helping others learn more about how to make people healthy is as important to Steve’s professional life as treating people with dental problems and sleep disordered breathing.

Brock Rondeau, DDS

Dr. Brock Rondeau is a Diplomate of the International Board of Orthodontics, Diplomate American Board of Craniofacial Pain, Diplomate-Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines, Diplomate American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, Diplomate American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine, Master Senior Certified Instructor for the International Association for Orthodontics and was awarded the IAO's highest honor - the Leon Pinker Award and Duane Stanford Award. He has published over 30 articles and numerous videos on orthodontics and is also a contributing editor for the Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry and the Journal of General Orthodontics. Dr. Rondeau is one of North America's most sought after clinicians whose practice is limited to the treatment of patients with orthodontic, orthopedic, TMJ and snoring and sleep apnea problems for the past 30 years.

Ken Berley, DDS, JD

Dr. Ken Berley has lectured nationally in the fields of Cosmetic Dentistry, Implant Dentistry and Risk Management. Through his experience and expertise, Dr. Berley focuses on Protecting Your Practice in the Medical Arena. Dr. Berley is a native Arkansan and has practiced dentistry in the state since 1980. He graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis with high honors. Dr. Berley has been practicing Cosmetic Dentistry for over 25 years and is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Berley completed his first implant case in 1984. He graduated from the University of Arkansas Little Rock in 1995 with a JD degree. He is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and a Master of the Implant Prosthodontics Section of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Therefore, he is one of the few dentists in the State of Arkansas trained and qualified to both surgically place and restore implants. Additionally, Dr. Berley is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and can perform all phases of general and restorative dentistry. Dr. Berley is a member of the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation and trained in sedation and anesthesis at the University of Alabama. Dr. Berley is a Member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Berley has lectured nationally in the fields of Cosmetic Dentistry, Implant Dentistry and Risk Management. He has lectured for such prestigious organizations as the Texas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, the Tennessee Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Sleep and Breathing Academy.

Shouresh Charkandeh, DDS

As a strong advocate for the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach to Dental Sleep Medicine, Dr. Charkandeh has successfully treated hundreds of OSA patients. With his focus on Titration Technologies and Recent Research on Efficacy of OAT, Dr. Charkandeh works with Sleep Physicians, Sleep Dentists and CPAP providers to provide proper treatment for patients. Dr. Shouresh Charkandeh received his DDS and Bachelor of Medical Sciences from the University of Alberta, Canada and earned his Fellowship from Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. He maintains a group of private practices in Edmonton and Calgary with a focus on Dental Sleep Medicine, TMD and advanced occlusal reconstructive cases. He is actively involved in research to improve treatment outcome predictability for OAT, using the MATRx Technology and is the “Chief Dental Officer” at Zephyr Sleep Technologies. He is the recipient of the “2012 Clinical Research Award” from the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), and has lectured at numerous meetings such as American Academy of Sleep Medicine Annual Meeting, AADSM Annual Meeting, IAO (International Association for Orthodontics) Annual Meeting, and many more Sleep meetings across North America. He is one of the SomnoMed Academy Speakers and is also the “Clinical Director” at The Snore Centre in Calgary, Alberta; a multidisciplinary clinic offering personalized diagnostic and treatment services for snoring, sleep apnea and other sleep disorders.

DeWitt Wilkerson, DMD

Having treated several thousand patients for various dental related problems, Dr. DeWitt Wilkerson’s expertise has led him to be an extremely popular educator and leader in Dentistry and has a passion for teaching how to incorporate Overall Wellness into their Dental Practice. He has trained over 4,000 dentists through hands-on workshops with the Dawson Academy for Advanced Dental Studies, where he serves as a senior lecturer. He served in 2010-2011 as President of the American Equilibration Society, the leading organization in the world for the study of dental occlusion (bite) and Temporomandibular Disorders. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Academy for Oral and Systemic Health (AAOSH). He works closely with local physicians treating headaches, snoring and sleep apnea through oral appliances.

Mark Paschen, DDS

By limiting his practice to sleep disordered breathing, orthodontics, and the treatment of TMJ Disorders, Dr. Paschen showcases his ability to Lead and Motivate a Team to Build a Successful Sleep Practice. After graduating from the Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1983, Dr. Mark Paschen began practicing general dentistry in his hometown of Baraboo, Wisconsin. In 2005 after doing both general dentistry and orthodontics for over 20 years, he decided to limit his practice to sleep disordered breathing, orthodontics, and the treatment of TMJ Disorders. Presently, he is a Senior Certified Orthodontic Instructor for the International Association for Orthodontics (IAO). He has spoken both nationally and abroad on Orthodontic Practice Management and has authored several articles on that subject. He has also spoken at the annual meeting of the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines (ACSDD) and at the summer meeting of the IAO on dental sleep appliances. He has achieved his Academic Diplomat certification in the ACSDD and is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain.

Dawne Slabach, DDS

Dr. Dawne Slabach has a clinical practice focused on Sleep-Disordered Breathing, TMJ disorders and orthodontics. Her passion for treating patients comes from her own personal experiences with all three areas of treatment. Dr. Slabach received her B.S. in Biochemistry in 1984 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1988, both from the Ohio State University. She is a Diplomate in the Academy of Sleep Disorders Disciplines, Distinguished Fellow in the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and a Certified Assistant Instructor for the International Association of Orthodontics. She is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and an assistant instructor for Rondeau Seminars. She has been practicing and teaching Dental Sleep Medicine for the past 8 years.

Jonathan Lown, MD

Dr. Lown is a highly regarded board certified physician. He is certified in the areas of Sleep, Internal Medicine and Lipdology. As the subject of sleep disorders continues to gain momentum in our sleep-deprived society, Dr. Lown has become a widely recognized leader in this ever-evolving field of sleep medicine. Dr. Lown is on a mission to develop innovative treatment and education programs for his patients. He is dedicated to raising awareness of both medically diagnosed sleep disorders and the importance of quality sleep for all. Dr. Lown is highly regarded by his patients. Randy Curran
NPM Director of Medical Billing Services

Randy has dedicated his last 8 years in various aspects of the sleep medicine industry where he has gained the knowledge and expertise required to successfully navigate the realm of medical billing in dentistry. His passion lies in sleep medicine management and assisting dental practices to understand medical benefits and the importance of medical reimbursement protocols. With this, he has helped hundreds of practices across the nation build their sleep medicine practice. Many going from as low as 5 cases per month to 40 plus per month.
Additionally, Randy’s constant customer and patient contact has led dental practices across the nation to attribute their success in implementing dental sleep medicine to his ability to effectively maximize medical reimbursement and communicate with patients, dentists and the team!
He is currently on the board of the Riverside County Board of Education for Medical Science and Health Technology as a program adviser. There is also no shortage of healthcare talk at home as Randy is married to a Respiratory Therapist who is a lead staff member at a high volume hospital in Southern California
He has 3 children ages 8 through 17, and says his favorite hobby is just having fun with them… He also enjoys camping, spear fishing and coaching/playing baseball.

Erin Elliott, DDS

Dr. Erin Elliott received her B.S. in Biology with Chemistry Minor Summa Cum Laude from Houghton College in 1999 and then went on to receive her DDS from Creighton University Dental School, Magna Cum Laude (Graduated 5/86) in 2003. Dr. Elliott is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. She was the ADA Idaho Panhandle President 2008-2009. Dr. Elliott has been practicing at Post Falls Family Dental in Post Falls, ID since 2003 with a focus in Dental Sleep Medicine as well as general and cosmetic dentistry.
