Hi Seattle Smiles!

Great question - we have never seen a claim denied for use of periods in the diagnosis codes. The DentalWriter software does print them onto the claim by default if you are submitting paper claims, and we have never seen it be a problem.

Hi,
I was told by another medical billing consultant that we should not use periods in the diagnoses codes because they are already implied and that the claim could get rejected. So instead of K04.7 it should be K04 7
Is this correct? If so, how do we set it up in the software?
