I am using codes 21110 for orthotic, 95851 for K7, 64550 for Tens, 99070 for models, and 76102 for tomo. Are these still the best codes to use for these procedures? Any of these codes have modifiers and units of time?
Thank you for your assistance, Pam

The code for a TMD orthotic is S8262, Mandibular Orthopedic Repositioning Device, each. The CPT Code, 21110 (Interdental Fixation Device) is not recommended as that procedure involves wiring the arches. As far as Electromyography, the code for surface EMG is S3900.
Best regards,
Rose

Thanks for your reply! What about the tens code 64550 & tomo code 76102? OK? Tens code charged in 15 minute units? Do others send out code for models?
Thanks, Pam

Hello Pam,
The 64550 is a potential code for unattended office application of TENS, when the carrier has TENS coverage. Some insurers down code 64550; TENS to 97014; Electrical Stimulation
CPT 97014 Electrical Stimulation is a "unit" based code. So, when unattended electrical stimulation is placed for 45 minutes, enter a "3" in the unit section (24G) on the medical claim. Also, the 76102 is the appropriate code for Computed Tomography, Bilateral.
All my best!
