Has Nierman considered alternate mechanisms to allow patient data entry when at the dental office? For example, creating Adobe data entry forms that would allow patients to fill in medical history and other information on a web portal that could then be sent to a practice for import into Dental Writer?

How about a KIOSK interface for the same purpose, but not allowing a patient to see other patient information?

Is there a standardized import feature that would allow import of large amounts of patient data?

Is there anything we can do to minimize a patient occupying a chair of revenue, filling out these forms?

Hi bradyburke!

Great question. We actually do have what you are describing! They're called DentalWriter Online Patient forms - and the dental practice is able to use their hyperlinks (that only connect with their dentalwriter, so they are secure) that can be added to a website and/or e-mailed directly to patients to complete! Once a patient completes their online registration, all of their information (demographic, contact, medical history, etc) is easily imported into DentalWriter with a few clicks of a button by the dental office into the DW patient list.
It saves a ton of admin time!
Here is a link to a great press release that just came out 2 days ago on our online patient forms:

As for the kiosk in office - since they are web based forms, a patient can complete these intake forms using any type of workstation available to patients in the dental offices waiting room! (tablet, laptop, computer, etc).

So - as far a a patient tying up a chair for this - you can use DW online forms to have the patient fill it out at home or wherever before the visit by placing the hyperlink on your website and/or e-mailing it directly to the patient, or allow patient to complete them when they get to the office too!

Hope this helps, please feel free to contact us with any further questions!
