This is my first time sending a claim. I was told I am suppose to fax the medical claim in. I have the Cigna Id card from the patient but there is no fax number. Only a P.O. Box. What am I suppose to do?

Hi guest!
Generally medical claims must be submitted via mail or electronically - very rarely will a medical insurer accept a claim via fax. Many medical insurer do accept pre-authorization requests by fax. Did the insurer themselves tell you to fax the claim? If so, i would call their provider services line and ask what fax number to send your claim to.
Hope this helps!

Hi guest! Many insurers will put the fax number for pre-authorization requests on their website in the contactus section. If not, if you call the provider services line or customer service line they should be able to supply it to you. For example, Cigna health spring (which may or may not be the same policy your patient has) supplies this pre-authorization form on their site which contains the fax number on it: https://www.cigna.com/iwov-resources/medicare-2016/docs/prior-authorization-form-outpatient-kc.pdfHope this helps!
