Good Morning Courtney,
Is there any tricks to billing Medicare for teeth extractions? This for extraction with infection in the jaw bone. I know that Medicare usually doesn't pay for extractions. But this case the infection was in the jaw bone and the tooth had to be removed. Any suggestions would really help. Thank you DiAnna

Hi DIAnna!
Great question. I have been told use of the JO qualifiers to indicate areas of the oral cavity for extraction cases can be helpful for Medicare. I do believe most Medicare Part B jurisdiction will process the "D" codes for extractions, and of course make sure you have the proper diagnosis code(s) for the jaw bone infection :)
Hope this helps!
