                Hi Guest!
No problem we are happy to help in any way we can.

In order to determine the most appropriate ICD (diagnosis) coding options, i'll need a few more details from you :)

First off - the car accident. Could you describe it more detail? (i.e. was the patient the driver or passenger, was it a car or other type of vehicle, was it a traffic accident or something else like a stationary object that was hit, etc). I know these seem like strange questions, but accident coding gets very specific!!

As for the trauma to the oral cavity - what all are we looking at there? are there fracture teeth, displaced teeth, etc?

Thank you so much for your help Courtney!
The patient was the driver she was hit head on as she was merging into her lane. The airbag hit her face and has caused so many problems. Her teeth are not fracture where her bridge is but are very lose.

Let me know if you need to know anything else.

 Again, Thank you so much!!

                Hi Guest!
Ok great - based on what you described, here are some coding options for you:

For the trauma to the oral cavity:

S03.2XXA - Dislocation of tooth, initial encounter
S03.2XXD - Dislocation of tooth, subsequent encounter
S03.2XXS - Dislocation of tooth, sequela
M26.34 - Vertical displacement of fully erupted tooth or teeth
M26.33 - Horizontal displacement of fully erupted tooth or teeth
K08.52 - Unrepairable overhanging of dental restorative materials
 K08.81 - Primary occlusal trauma
 K08.82 - Secondary occlusal trauma

 For the accident:

V43.52XA - Car driver injured in collision with other type car in traffic accident, initial encounter
V43.52XD - Car driver injured in collision with other type car in traffic accident, subsequent encounter
V43.52XS - Car driver injured in collision with other type car in traffic accident, sequela

 Hope this helps!
