Hi Guest!
D7953 - bone replacement graft for ridge preservation - per site Can be cross coded to: 21210 - Graft, bone; nasal, maxillary or malar areas (includes obtaining graft) 21215 - Graft, bone; mandible (includes obtaining graft) **use modifier -52 for reduced services when bone is not obtained from patient
D7210 - Extraction, erupted tooth requiring removal of bone and/or sectioning of tooth, and including elevation of mucoperiosteal flap if indicated D5211 - maxillary partial denture – resin base (including, retentive/clasping materials, rests, and teeth)
As for extractions & dentures, they do not have a direct crosscode, so you can either bill the "D" code on the medical claim (many insurers these days will process "D" codes when they are medically necessary services), or you can use the CPT code below and include a narrative report describing the procedure: 41899 - Unlisted procedure, dentoalveolar structures
You will also need proper diagnosis codes to describe the accident and injury to the teeth that led to these services being needed. If you'd like to provide me with some details about the accident and the damage it caused, I'm happy to provide you with some ICD (diagnosis) coding options.
Hope this helps!

HI Amy!
2 of the codes you provided seem to have an extra character.....for 000140 - did you mean D0140? And for 002330 - did you mean D2330 or D0230?
D0140 - limited oral evaluation - problem focused can be crosscoded to: 99202 - level 2 new patient Evaluation & Management (office visit) or 99212 - level 2 established patient Evaluation & Management (office visit)
D0310 - sialography Can be crosscoded to: 70380 - Radiologic examination, salivary gland for calculus 70390 - Sialography, radiological supervision and interpretation
D0230 - intraoral - periapical each additional radiographic image Can be cross coded to: 70310 - Radiologic examination, teeth; partial examination, less than full mouth
D2330 - resin-based composite - one surface, anterior
The code listed above do not have direct crosscodes we are aware of - so you can either bill the "D" code on the medical claim (many insurers these days will process "D" codes when they are medically necessary services), or you can use the CPT code below and include a narrative report describing the procedure: 41899 - Unlisted procedure, dentoalveolar structures
As for the diagnosis codes - you will want to first describe the injury, and then code for how it happened.
For example, if the teeth were fractured: S02.5XXA - Fracture of tooth (traumatic), initial encounter for closed fracture S02.5XXB - Fracture of tooth (traumatic), initial encounter for open fracture
If there was pain: G89.11 - Acute pain due to trauma
And to describe the accident: W21.07XA - Struck by softball, initial encounter
Hope this helps!

I have one more question regarding your very helpful response below what cpt medical code should I use for a dental procedure described as root canal therapy interior tooth #9 composite, 1 surface, anterior tooth #9
root canal therapy interior tooth #10 composite, 1 surface, anterior tooth #10
again thank you so much for your help.

Hi Amy!
There is not a direct crosscode available for root canals, so you can either bill the "D" code on the medical claim (many insurers these days will process "D" codes when they are medically necessary services), or you can use the CPT code below and include a narrative report describing the procedure: 41899 - Unlisted procedure, dentoalveolar structures
